Calcutta High Court approves fact-finding team's visit to Sandeshkhali

Calcutta High Court has granted permission for a six-member independent fact-finding team, led by former High Court Chief Justice L Narasimha Reddy, to visit the violence-stricken region of Sandeshkhali on Thursday. The committee, which includes former Patna High Court judge Justice L Narasimha Reddy, former Haryana cadre IPS officer Raj Pal Singh, Charu Wali Khanna, O.P. Vyas, Sanjeev Nayak, and Bhavana Bajaj, is slated to explore Majherpara, Natunpara, and Naskarpara areas.

This visit comes after an earlier attempt by the committee on February 25 was obstructed by the police, resulting in their arrest. However, following a petition to the Kolkata High Court, the members were granted permission to resume their fact-finding mission on March 3.
